About the Event

The Bloodborne Pathogens safety course is designed for those who are at risk for on the job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace. The course teaches how bloodborne pathogens are spread how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed to infectious material. This course is one of the requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.

Description: Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms present in blood that can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS.  

Topics may include:

  • Exposure control plans
  • Exposure incidents
  • Handling exposure
  • PPE
